Quality Stud

New owners for Canturano.

The Holstein sire Canturano has new owners. Five international breeders recently bought the stallion. The Belgian Excellent Breeding (Luk Van Puymbroeck), the Belgian Quality Stud (Koen Terryn), the French Haras de Gravelotte (Claire Bresson) and the German Thomas Rieke are already the new owners. Next week the Dutch partner will be announced.

Canturano (Canturo x Coriano) was approved in Neumünster in 2005 and directly sold for 160,000 euro. A year later he won the 70-day performance test with a total index of 132. In 2007, the stallion did a 30-day performance test with the KWPN, where he got a 8.5 mark for potential as a jumper, an 8 for technique, a 9 for power and an 8.5 for attitude. He jumped at international level with Gerco Schröder and Wout Jan van der Schans. Canturano was auctioned for 500,000 euro in July 2012 in Aalst, Belgium.

Meanwhile, the breeders succeeded in finding the 10-year-old stallion: In Germany alone, there are 29 descendants registered with the German Equestrian Federation. He already sired five approved sons. Canturano himself is approved with the Hannover, Oldenburg, Oldenburg International, Zangersheide, SF, Holstein and KWPN.

Canturano gives nice and easy-to-ride horses, that have a lot of potential. Despite his oldest descendants are only 6 years old in 2014, several of them already fetched top prizes at auctions. In 2013, Dalli Dalli (Canturano x Indoctro) yielded 360,000 euro at the Holger Hetzel auction in Germany and Don Juan VL (Canturano x Indorado) was sold for 325,000 euro at the sale of Paul and Emile Hendrix in the Netherlands.
