International interest in the Flanders Foal Auction

On Saturday the 28th of June, the Flanders Foal Auction was organised in Bonheiden. Besides one foal for charity, there were 19 other foals and 3 embryos in the catalog. One foal was absent.

The foal for the benefit of the charity organisation fighting breast cancer “Think Pink” was sold for 4500 euros.

The19 foals present brought together 210.500 euros, or an average price of 11.694 euros. The top price of 19.000 euros was payed for the impressive Diavo Wi-Ro Z, a colt of Diamant de Semilly and a Contender dam. The foal was purchased by the German Kai Gerken. The same stallion specialist bought also Oxford Quality for 15.000 euros. Oxford Quality is a strong son of Quick Star and the mare Charme (Casall x Cantus). Charme is also the dam of the super jumping Mr Quality Z, sold at the Flanders Foal Auction for 25.000 euros and in the mean time approved in Zangersheide. The foals were sold to Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland, Ireland and Ukrain. 

The 3 embryos were sold for a total amount of 59.200 euros, or an average price of 19.667 euros. The most expensive embryo was a Cornet Obolensky from the full sister of Big Star. The French Haras du Bois Margot payed 35.000 euros for this embryo. The embryos were sold to France, Germany and Poland.
