Thursday night, the 12th of August, a beautiful filly of Calato was born out of K-Quintana, the full sister of the Holstein stallion Quantum. We almost lost the foal. The delivery was very hard because the foal was in a back to front position. Due to this incorrect position, there was a retraction of the tendons in both hind legs. This was so bad that the foal was not able to get up on its own. Therefore, we went to the faculty of veterinary medicine. Both hind legs were put in a cast. For the moment, the foal can stand on its own. We still have to wait if everything is going to be alright, but the future already looks a bit brighter. The foal owns its live to its incredible attitude and its strong will to survive. We are willingly to keep such kind of fillies. If everything goes according to plan, we will perform 2 ET of K-Quintana: 1 of Calato and 1 of Calido I. We would like to thank Dr. Pille and all the others for their excellent care.
